Partnering With Liberty Center Local Schools
Unique education series teaches second graders about our industry.
Andrew Schwab, a Gerken civil engineer and former Liberty Center student, explains what it takes to become an engineer.
In our ongoing efforts to foster interest and engagement among local students, The Gerken Companies collaborated with Liberty Center Local Schools to curate a six-part interactive learning course highlighting critical areas of our industry.
Throughout the six-week program, Gerken team members covered various aspects of our business, such as dump trucks, mixer trucks, engineering, quality control, paving, and mining, while shedding light on the diverse careers associated with our work. Our ultimate goal was to ignite curiosity and passion within these young minds, encouraging them to explore our industry’s abundant career possibilities.
The Gerken Companies wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our employees for generously devoting their time and knowledge to making this local opportunity unforgettable. Furthermore, we sincerely thank Liberty Center Local Schools for their partnership in fostering interest in this essential field. The experience was remarkable, filled with learning, exploration, and inspiration.
