Build My Future 2024
Gerken helped operate this year’s HBA of Greater Toledo’s Build My Future event at the Wood County Fairgrounds on October 17. The annual construction field day inspires youth in and around Northwest Ohio to pursue careers in the skilled trades while creating awareness of the home-building industry.
Several Gerken team members were on hand throughout the day, engaging with students through hands-on activities. One of our mixer truck drivers demonstrated how the rigs work, and our quality control team provided hands-on mixing activities to help students understand concrete operations and quality control testing. We also incorporated basketball and egg challenge exercises to illustrate the importance of precision and teamwork.
