We discussed The Gerken Companies’ various divisions, what it takes for graduating students entering the workforce to earn an entry-level position with the company, and the paths their careers could take here.

An overview of our Napoleon facilities included a lab tour with Michael Wells. Then, participants took a mobile tour through a work zone, The Custar Stone Co. quarry, Gerken Materials, Inc.’s Custar asphalt facility, and M&R Ready Mix, Inc.’s McClure location.

The morning ended at the Gerken office, where a Tropical Freeze food truck served lunch and ice cream.
