The Gerken Companies is proud to partner with Black Swamp Football to present the Gerken ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week Award to an area high school football team whose latest game-day efforts showed extraordinary effort, hard work, and outstanding commitment.

Black Swamp Football covers 55 northwest Ohio schools with a weekly podcast during football season, a constantly updated website providing game previews, features, and game recaps, and a popular preseason magazine. Black Swamp Football also broadcasts a weekly game.

Black Swamp Football analysts Lynn Groll and Tory Strock will select the Gerken ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week Award recipients and announce each week’s winning team on the podcast.

“We use the term ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE to describe how the Gerken team tackles our work,” says Mandy Gerken-Snyder. “High school athletes who demonstrate extra effort, hard work, and commitment are individuals we hope will consider joining our team after graduation.”

The first Gerken ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week award went to the Napoleon Wildcats, who earned a hard-fought 35-34 overtime victory against the Defiance Bulldogs on August 23, 2024.
