Safety is the top priority for The Gerken Companies. We strive to provide safe working conditions for employees and other contractors, and our HR and Safety managers closely monitor and enforce our safety programs. So, while we rarely pat ourselves on the back, it’s nice to acknowledge when our efforts receive industry recognition.

Over the years, we’ve received numerous awards for safety. Here are just a few.

In 2018, the Black Swamp Safety Council—co-sponsored by Northwest State Community College—recognized Gerken Paving, Inc. for its efforts to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

The United States Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration awards its Certificate of Achievement in Safety to recognize mine operators who have not experienced a work injury resulting in serious injury, days away from work, or days of restricted work activity and who have a No Days Lost (NDL) injury incidence rate equal to or less than the national incidence rate.
