Hopfinger Zimmerman Memorial Park

Area attraction is a popular destination for Port Clinton families.

Hopfinger Zimmerman Memorial Park

Lorraine Zimmerman’s parents, Raymond and Delores Hopfinger, worked their family farm in Port Clinton, Ohio, for more than 35 years. The Hopfiners were generous people who loved the Port Clinton community. In their honor, Lorraine and her husband Jack donated the property and built a free, safe, and beautiful space for area families to enjoy.

The Zimmermans excavated the land, installed walking trails, dug a pond, built a bridge, and planted trees. Since 2016, they’ve raised money to purchase playground equipment and pedal boats and completed a two-acre fenced puppy park and a pavilion.

Growth plans include basketball courts, frisbee golf, a sledding hill, and paved parking lots.

As one of its community service projects, the Toledo Chapter of the Ohio Contractors Association donated time and resources to construct parking lots and an access road to the park. Gerken is proud to have been part of this worthwhile effort.
