MSHA Refresher Training

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) helps improve working conditions in our nation’s mines. The agency works cooperatively with industry to develop and enforce critical safety and health rules. Gerken’s Environment, Health, and Safety Management (EHS) team conducts mandatory refresher classes to keep Gerken employees updated with MSHA regulatory changes.

Approximately 90 Gerken team members recently participated in an eight-hour training program conducted by Dave Keifer, EHS Manager Plants & Quarries. Dave is Gerken’s MSHA expert, having been involved with the compliance agency for decades.

Guest speakers included Jared Clum, EHS Manager Construction, and Joyce Diewald, Cincinnati Insurance Risk Loss Control.
