The Gerken Companies is proud to partner with Black Swamp Football to present the Gerken ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week Award to an area high school football team whose latest game-day efforts showed extraordinary effort.

In a thrilling showdown on October 24, 2025, Liberty Center emerged victorious against Archbold with a score of 33-14, clinching the Northwest Ohio Athletic League (NWOAL) title. The game took an unexpected turn when Liberty Center found itself trailing 14-0 early on. However, the team rallied back, demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination.
The turning point came in the second half when Liberty Center unleashed a scoring barrage, putting up 33 unanswered points. Key contributors to this impressive turnaround included Thomas Mohler, who scored two touchdowns, and Garrison Kruse, who added another. Liberty Center’s defense also stepped up significantly, forcing four turnovers that played a crucial role in their victory. This dominant second-half performance shifted the momentum, leaving Archbold on the back foot and resulting in their first loss after a strong six-game winning streak.
With this win, Liberty Center improved its record to an undefeated 10-0 for the season. The victory not only secured the NWOAL championship but also earned Liberty Center Black Swamp Football’s ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week award, presented by Gerken.
