The Gerken Companies is proud to partner with Black Swamp Football to present the Gerken ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE of the Week Award to an area high school football team whose latest game-day efforts showed extraordinary effort.

Last Friday, the Anna Rockets took to their home field, eager to redeem themselves after a previous defeat against the Coldwater Cavaliers. The last matchup ended in a lopsided score of 45-21 in favor of Coldwater, a stark reminder of their dominance. However, this time, the stakes felt different—a chance at redemption was at hand, and the Rockets were determined to seize it.
As the game kicked off, it quickly became clear that this match would not resemble their last encounter. Both teams showcased formidable defenses, turning the game into a fierce battle of strategy and grit. The first half was a tense back-and-forth struggle, with neither team giving an inch. However, the Rockets managed to edge ahead with two crucial touchdowns and a 14-7 win.
Quarterback Logan Ziegenbusch completed several key passes, totaling 142 yards and throwing touchdown passes to receivers Zebadiah Pleiman and Kale Hoying. Meanwhile, Anna’s defense limited the Cavaliers to just 146 total yards, including a mere 61 yards on the ground.
The victory marks the Rockets’ sixth consecutive win at home and improves their season record to 3-1. It also represents Anna’s first win over Coldwater since 2019.
