Tyne Rosebrock

Accounting Assistant

Tyne Rosebrock

Tyne Rosebrock blends her passion for horses with a promising career in accounting, honoring a family legacy of commitment and personal drive.

In her hometown of Napoleon, Ohio, Tyne Rosebrock is making a name for herself as an Accounting Assistant at The Gerken Companies. Her journey is a blend of personal passion, family legacy, and professional dedication, demonstrating how one can blend their interests with a rewarding career.

Out of the Gate

Tyne’s story begins in Napoleon, the town where she was born and raised. Growing up in a family with a rich equestrian heritage, Tyne can hardly remember a time when horses weren’t a part of her life. Her parents established a small horse boarding facility, and family vacations often revolved around trail-riding adventures. As a result, Tyne quickly became immersed in competitive equestrian events.

“I was on horses before I could walk,” Tyne reminisces, highlighting her lifelong connection with the animals. She began competing in equestrian events at a very young age. Participating in lead line activities, where a young rider sits on a horse while an adult handler leads the horse by a rope, helped her build confidence and develop basic skills.

Before long, Tyne became actively involved in northwest Ohio’s equestrian community. She participated in events such as the All-American Youth Horse Show, and her high school team clinched two state championships and was the two-time reserve state champs. However, the pandemic interrupted her participation in such events, as it did for many in the equestrian community.

Tyne’s professional journey began humbly; she started working part-time mowing grass at The Gerken Companies while still in high school. Her interest in math, bolstered by a teacher’s encouraging advice, guided her toward a career in accounting. After attending Four County Career Center, she earned an Associate of Science degree from Northwest State Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Bowling Green State University.

Today, Tyne handles billing for external asphalt customers at The Gerken Companies, a role that aligns perfectly with her meticulous, detail-oriented nature. “Accounting resonates with me because I love ensuring everything balances and follows established guidelines,” she explains with genuine enthusiasm.

A Deep Family Connection

Tyne’s ties to The Gerken Companies run far deeper than a job; they’re a profound part of her family heritage. Her father, Carlton Rosebrock, dedicated an impressive 40 years to the company as a Prep Crew foreman before his passing in 2018. “Growing up, there was always a Gerken truck in our driveway,” she fondly remembers, reflecting on her father’s passion for his work and the impact he had on others.

What Tyne misses most about her father is his discerning judgment. “He could be tough, but it was always out of a desire for others to excel,” she shares. “He was honest, and people either loved him or found him challenging.” Despite his tough exterior, those who looked past it held immense respect for his skills. “I can’t help but believe he made a lasting difference in many lives,” she says thoughtfully. His legacy continues to shape Tyne’s journey.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Tyne is planning her September wedding to her high school sweetheart, a relationship that grew from a serendipitous mix-up on Snapchat. While trying to reach her friend Jared, she accidentally connected with his cousin, Justin. What started as a friendly conversation has blossomed into a six-year love story. Justin has embraced the family, helping with the responsibilities of managing their horse boarding facility.

Tyne’s outlook on her future is filled with optimism as she envisions a bright path in Napoleon and with The Gerken Companies. At just 24, she values loyalty and stability, preferring to remain with a company where she feels at home rather than jumping from job to job. “I’m happy not to be the youngest member of the team anymore,” she laughs, reflecting on her growth and evolving role within the company.

Tyne Rosebrock’s story is one of commitment, family ties, and the integration of passion with profession. Whether she’s in the office or horseback riding, she exemplifies integrity and excellence, reflecting the values her father nurtured and her community embraced. As she eagerly anticipates her wedding and the exciting road ahead, Tyne continues to honor her roots while forging her own path.
